"I'm about 6 weeks into it and noticing that the numbness in my feet and toes is reduced. They used to feel mushy, especially first thing in the morning. Now that feeling is less and I stop noticing it within an hour or two. More importantly, I'm feeling more balanced on my feet when I'm walking. Something good is happening! Doing a 20 min. treatment every night when I get in bed."

How red and near-infrared light works

What the research has examined.

No single mechanism tells the whole story. Research on photobiomodulation points to several effects that work together. Here's what published studies have found.

Light reaches the tissue

Red and near-infrared light passes through the skin to the tissue underneath. Mitochondria (the energy-producing structures inside cells) absorb this light. Research indicates this can increase cellular energy (ATP) production.

Cells have more energy

Cellular energy matters for damaged nerves: nerve cells are among the most energy-hungry in the body, and when their supply runs low they signal poorly and repair slowly. More available energy is the fuel the cell needs to do its job.

Measured downstream effects

Those two changes, lower inflammation and stronger local blood flow, are the downstream effects measured most often in the research. Both act directly on what irritates and starves peripheral nerves. (More on each below.)

What people in studies reported

In clinical trials of red-light therapy for peripheral neuropathy, participants have reported less pain and numbness and better sensation in the feet. Results varied between studies and not everyone improved but a measurable outcome, in people, is why this moved from lab research to something you can do at home.

These statements describe published research on red light therapy (photobiomodulation), much of it conducted with devices and doses different from this product.

What red light therapy has been studied for

What the research has examined.

Nerve tissue (lab & animal research)

In animal studies of nerve injury, red and near-infrared light has been found to speed axon regrowth, improve the recovery of nerve conduction, and boost the body's own antioxidant enzymes that shield nerve cells from the oxidative stress that damages them. This is preclinical, shown in the lab and in animals, not yet in people, but it's the repair-side research that first put nerve health on the map for this modality.

Ishiguro et al., Journal of Orthopaedic Science (animal study)

Inflammation response

Meta-analyses of photobiomodulation report reductions in inflammatory signals such as TNF-α, IL-1β and IL-6. Chronic low-grade inflammation around peripheral nerves drives much of the burning and tingling of neuropathy, so reducing it goes straight at one of the root irritants behind those symptoms.

Hamblin, Photonics & Lasers in Medicine

Neuropathy Light Therapy System being used at home on the foot and lower leg

Local circulation

Studies have found that red and near-infrared light increases local blood flow and triggers the release of nitric oxide, the molecule that relaxes and widens blood vessels. Poor circulation to the tiny vessels that feed the foot nerves (the vasa nervorum) is one of the root drivers of peripheral neuropathy, so increasing flow there goes straight at an underlying cause, not just the sensation.

Larkin-Kaiser et al., Pain Medicine

Pain signaling

In clinical trials of photobiomodulation for peripheral neuropathy, researchers have reported lower pain scores alongside changes in nerve conduction. The burning and shooting of neuropathy is the nerve's own signaling gone into overdrive, and quieting that overactive signaling is what the human research has most often set out to measure. Findings differ between studies, devices and doses.

These statements describe published research on photobiomodulation, much of it from laboratory, animal, or small human studies using devices and doses different from this product. This product is not a treatment for any disease.

3 reasons this device is different

Built different. On purpose.

USP 01 · Coverage

Reaches the tibial nerve pathway, not just the toes.

Boot-style devices cover the foot. The tibial nerve, which carries sensation from your sole, runs behind the medial ankle and up the calf. The open wrap covers that whole area, so more of it receives consistent light coverage.

Does your current device cover this area, or only the foot?

USP 02 · Power

One of the highest irradiation powers in its class.

Irradiance is how much light energy reaches the tissue. Many consumer devices run at 80–130 mW/cm². At 200 mW/cm², this is one of the highest in its class. The open-wrap design lets heat dissipate, which is what allows the higher output.

Compare the irradiance figures in the table below before you buy.

USP 03 · System

A device is one tool. We ship the whole routine.

You get more than hardware: a structured 90-day routine with a daily light schedule, balance and stretching exercises, and general nutrition guidance. 20 minutes a day, at home.

Everything's included, no appointments to schedule.

Pops' Feet

I have enjoyed the response of the Curayou Team in helping me with all my questions. After buying the oral redlight device and my dentist giving telling me that my gums were looking better with my numbers dropping. I decided to purchase the Neuropathy Light Therapy System for me and my wife. The medical grade, research, versatility of the device (feet, knee, back, etc..) and the ability to adjust the Frequency were the main reason for purchasing the NLTS, after researching all the devices for Neuropathy in my feet. Curayou NLTS was the only device I found that could address our different problems with one device. My wife and I both have immediate relief on our knees after using the NLTS and the relief is lasting longer as we continue to use the NLTS regularly. The reason for buying the NLTS was Neuropathy in my feet, I am seeing some improvement with my feet after 3 weeks of regular sessions with the device using Curayou protocol. I am sold on REDLIGHT THERAPHY AND CURAYOU. At 71 years old, I only wish I had found both Redlight Therapy and CURAYOU sooner. Thanks to everyone at CURAYOU Respectfully Pops

Love the flexibility of it (versus a boot style) but...

It is flexible so can even use it on my back or neck. However, cannot use it while laying down since the lights are not protected and pick my skin. Irritating to say the least. That being said, do I still recommend it? Most definitely. Would buy it again (in fact already bought two).

Why it's a routine, not just a device

Three parts that work on the same problem.

All included from day one · no medical training needed

LIGHT THERAPY

20 minutes of red light a day.

Wrap the foot, ankle, and lower calf and run one session. This is the part that targets local circulation, inflammation, and cellular energy. The same mechanisms the research above looks at.

MOVEMENT

Balance & stretching exercises.

Numb feet make balance harder and raise the risk of a fall, and movement keeps blood circulating through the lower legs. The simple daily balance and stretching routine works on both, which is why it's in the box.

NUTRITION

Anti-inflammatory eating guide.

Since inflammation and oxidative stress are part of nerve discomfort, the guide lays out general anti-inflammatory eating principles that support the same pathways the light works on. It's general wellness guidance, check with your clinician before changing your diet.

What to look for in a device

3 things that trip people up.

01

Expecting a device to replace medical care.

Gabapentin, Lyrica, and duloxetine work on the pain signal. Red light therapy is a different, drug-free approach people use at home. It isn't a substitute for your doctor's care. It's something many people add alongside it.

→ Photobiomodulation has been studied for its effects at the cellular level.

02

Choosing a device on price alone, not power.

Cheaper devices often run at 80–100 mW/cm². Power density determines how much light energy reaches the tissue rather than stopping at the skin surface. It's one of the most important specs to compare.

→ At 200 mW/cm², among the highest irradiances in its class.

03

Covering only the foot, not the whole area.

The tibial nerve runs behind the inner ankle and up the calf. Boot-style devices encase the foot but leave that area uncovered, so it gets no light.

→ Our wrap design covers the full pathway: foot, medial ankle, calf.

Smart, careful people research before they buy. Now you know what to look for.

Understanding the condition

Neuropathy often changes over time.

STAGE 1

Occasional tingling

"Pins and needles" come and go. Often dismissed as nothing.

STAGE 2

Constant burning

Discomfort becomes daily. Often worse at night.

STAGE 3

Numbness spreading

Sensation fades in toes, then the wider sole. Hot and cold harder to tell apart.

STAGE 4

Balance problems

Reaching for walls and furniture. Falls become more of a risk.

STAGE 5

Reduced independence

Walking aids and more help with daily tasks.

The decision is the hardest part.

For many people, neuropathy is a condition that changes over time. Choosing to try something you've researched and believe in is one of the things that's within your control.

The 60-day money-back guarantee means trying it is low-risk: if it's not right for you, send it back for a refund.

Questions, answered honestly

Before you order.

Is this FDA approved?

The Neuropathy Light Therapy System along with other red light therapy devices on the market is a Class II medical device that is exempt from FDA premarket review (510(k)-exempt), made in an FDA-registered, ISO-certified facility. "FDA-registered" and "510(k)-exempt" mean the device manufacturer is listed with the FDA and meets the requirements for its classification. They do not mean the FDA has reviewed, cleared, or approved it.

How does this compare to devices recommended by nerve doctors online?

It operates at wavelengths and intensities commonly used in photobiomodulation research: 660nm + 850nm, a 2:1 near-infrared-to-red ratio, pulsing capability, and 200 mW/cm². The full specifications are published below so you can compare them yourself against any device you're considering.

Why a wrap instead of a boot?

Two reasons. First, coverage: the tibial nerve, which serves the sole of the foot, runs behind the medial ankle and up the calf, an area a wrap covers and a boot does not. Second, airflow: an open wrap lets heat dissipate, which is what allows the higher 200 mW/cm² output where enclosed boots typically cap out around 130. When there is more heat, cells vibrate more which makes them less effective at absorbing the energy from the red light photons.

Is this safe to use with my current medications?

It's a drug-free, non-invasive device, so it doesn't interact with medications the way a drug would, and red light therapy is generally well tolerated. Check with your doctor before starting, especially if you have an active medical condition, an implant near the treatment area, or take a medication that increases light sensitivity. Don't change your prescriptions without their guidance.

What's included in the routine?

The device plus a 90-day at-home routine: a daily light-therapy schedule, balance and stretching exercises, and general guidance on supplements and an anti-inflammatory eating approach for use at home. It's a structure to follow, not medical advice. Check with your own clinician before changing diet or supplements.

What if it doesn't work for me?

You have 60 days. If it's not right for you, send it back for a refund. Return shipping cost (~$16) is at the customers expense. If you'd like to read the underlying research first, you can read about red light therapy for neuropathy here.
